You've been searching for something
You're not quite sure what to call it.
You know a regular cleaner won't be enough. The situation — your parent's home, a property after a bereavement, a tenancy that's reached a difficult point — needs more than a mop and a promise.
You might have searched "deep clean" or "house clearance" or "hoarding help." Eventually you found "specialist cleaning." Now you're wondering what that actually means — and whether it's for someone in your situation.
It starts with a phone call
Most people who contact us aren't sure what they need. They describe a situation, and we listen.
A son whose father's bungalow hasn't been properly cleaned in over a year since his mum passed away. A housing officer with a tenant whose property has become a safeguarding concern. A daughter who opened her mum's spare room for the first time in months and didn't know where to begin.
Every call is different. But they share something — the person calling has reached the point where they know they can't manage this alone. And they don't have to.
What makes it different
A regular cleaning company sends someone with products and a schedule. They clean what's there. Specialist cleaning starts somewhere else entirely — with the person.
The homes we work in often haven't had visitors in months. The person living there might open the door six inches and stand behind it. They might not make eye contact. They might have cleared a path to the front door that morning, hoping it would be enough.
None of that changes how we walk in. We're there to help, not to judge.
That's why this work needs more than cleaning skills. Our team is DBS Enhanced checked and safeguarding trained. We hold waste carrier licences and work alongside council social care teams. We're trusted by four councils — Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, Norfolk, and Norwich — and we've supported over 205 families in the past year. We arrive in unmarked vehicles, because discretion matters when someone's home is the most personal space they have.
What the work looks like
Most people who call us don't use the words "hoarding" or "biohazard." They say "it's got out of hand" or "I don't know where to start" or "it's been like this for a while." That's enough. We know what those words mean.
Whether a home needs hoarding clearance, a deep clean, help after a bereavement, or all of it — we work at the person's pace. If the garden needs attention too, we take care of that at the same time.
You don't need it to be "bad enough"
This is the part we wish more people understood. Many families put off calling because they feel the situation isn't serious enough, or because they think specialist cleaning is only for the worst cases.
It's not. If you're worried about a home — whether it's a single room or the whole property — that's reason enough to call. There's no threshold you have to meet. No one will tell you it's not worth their time.
Most of the families we work with say the same thing afterwards: "I wish I'd called sooner."
